Savannah
Software announces International Partnership
June 2002
Savannah Software is pleased to announce
it's partnership with Objective
Computing, a London based IT company.
Objective Computing, one of the first UK
companies to be awarded the prestigious
Microsoft Gold Partner status, invited
Savannah Software to form a partnership
to work on international projects and pool
resources on projects both in the US and
the UK.
Alan Hearnshaw of Savannah Software said:
"This is an excellent opportunity
and is a 'win-win' situation for both companies.
Our respective clients will benefit from
the backing and experience of a pool of
up to 15 developers - all Microsoft certified
- and it will bring some of the European
work here to the States."

Tips for successful Data Management
- Don't duplicate your data -
Ensure that each piece of data is stored
in one place and one place only. Trying
to keep duplicate customer records in
both your address book and your accounting
package will never work and will cost
you more than twice the time!
- Look to the future - Before
commiting to any software solution,
look to the future: How long before
you outgrow this solution? Is the system
easily expandable? If you choose to
stop using this application, can you
get your data out of it in a useful
format?
- Beware generic solutions - The
software solution has to be a good "fit".
Remember, you or your staff will be
using this solution daily for a long
time.
If you were a professional driver would
buy an uncomfortable car that "sort
of" does what you want?
- Ride with the big boys - your
business information is far too important
to trust to just anyone. Make sure your
solution is built around the products
of companies that have been in the business
for a long time like Microsoft, Oracle,
etc... No company's database products
may be perfect - but they're sure the
best we've got!
- Backup! Backup! Backup! - I
know it's been said before, but it's
a lot easier to re-assemble yesterdays
data than the last 3 years worth! There
are many products on the market now
that make the task easier and allow
for automatic, incremental backup (A
full backup is initially performed and
thereafter only the changes/additions
need to be saved).
